D&D was already on the rise in the gaming community, and not necessarily worrying the average parent back in 1979. But we find ourselves with a conundrum here in that one group of students that were among the small but growing world of LARP, or Live Action Role Play, though no one outside of the community really knew the term or what it meant. To them, it was just kids dressing up and playing, like kids throughout the ages. Maybe parents felt those kids were a bit old to be playing around, but it wasn’t a big deal at the time.
